Leadership Team

The Spera Bank has a Leadership Committee set up to orchestrate the overall well-being of the Bank. The purpose of the Leadership Committee is to maintain the long-term view and improve the outlook of the Bank. Formerly the Senior Executive Leadership Team, this grouping was renamed during the February 2020 Board Meeting to more accurately reflect its nature.

Co-Chief Executive Officer & President of Orbis Lottery (CEO/OL)

Answers to the Executive Board and works in partnership with the other co-CEO. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of Bank activities relating to Investment (Investor relations, bonds, savings accounts etc.)
  • Oversight of Bank activities relating to advertising/PR
  • Oversight and control of Orbis Lottery
  • Oversight of Loans/Technology in the absence of the other co-CEO.

Co-Chief Executive Officer & Vice President of Operations (CEO/VPO)

Answers to the Executive Board and works in partnership with the other co-CEO. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of Bank activities relating to Loans
  • Oversight of Bank activities relating to Technology and Special Projects
  • Oversight of Investment activities in the absence of the other co-CEO.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Answers to the co-CEOs and works in partnership with them. Responsibilities include:

  • Control of the daily activities of the Bank, which may be delegated in full, or in part to a Manager
  • Providing direction to the Managers, Loan Agents, and other subordinate staff.
  • Taking Loan Repayments and sending out loans.
  • Making sure that the all records and spreadsheets are up to date at all times.
  • Coordinates with the SBEU Executive Director on allocating necessary funding to the SBEU for compensation and payroll.

Spera Bank Employee Union Executive Director (ED.SBEU)

Answers to the Deputy Chair and the Board of Trustees; works in collaboration with the CFO and all Department Heads to provide working funds for the various departments and staff.

  • Verifies and approves Benchmark and Post-Benchmark compensation for all contracts.
  • Approves or rejects, evaluates and handles all non-executive compensation.
  • Advises the Board of Trustees on the liquidity and allocation of the fund.
  • Other duties as needed by the Board of Trustees.

Department Heads

Department Leaders are Executives, and are hired by the Board of Trustees. Director of Communications and Relations (DoCR)

Answers to co-CEO (CEO/OL) and works in partnership with the Director of Technology and Special Projects, along with the rest of the management team. Their responsibilities include:

  • Control over all things relating to PR including, but not limited to: Discord advertising, in-game advertising and server-wide events.
  • Ensuring client and investor satisfaction.
  • Creation and management of the All-Banks Discord Server and All-Banks Offerings Resource (see compensation benchmarks)

The DoCR may request a Deputy Director (DDoCR) to be hired to whom they may delegate tasks. Since the Deputy would not be an Executive level officer, this task would instead fall to the Executive Committee.

Director of Technology and Special Projects (DoTSP)

Answers to co-CEO (CEO/VPO) and works in partnership with the Director of Communications and Relations along with the rest of the management team. Their responsibilities include:

  • Control over all things relating to technology, ensuring that any technological devices, services, software etc. is up to date and running smoothly.
  • Coming up with ways to improve the technology used by the bank.

Answers to the co-CEO (CEO/OL) only and works in partnership with them to ensure the smooth and successful running of the lottery. Responsibilities will not change from what they are already at Orbis Lottery. The DoLS may request a Deputy Director (DDoLS) to be hired to whom they may delegate tasks. Since the Deputy would not be an Executive level officer, this task would instead fall to the Executive Committee.

The Board of Trustees is comprised of three-to-five individuals elected monthly by the full Board of Directors, plus the Chair of the Board who is elected quarterly. Formerly the Steering Committee, this grouping was renamed during the February 2020 Board Meeting to more accurately reflect its nature.

When determining the displayed order (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th), we follow the number of owned shares at the time of their election. Outside of the Chair and Deputy, there is no significance beyond that. The Chair of the Board is elected as part of the last Board meeting of each quarter. They are the head of the Leadership Committee and the Board, and are responsible for ensuring the Board's wishes are honoured. They are further held accountable to and by the Board. The Deputy Chairperson of the Board is appointed by the Chair from the elected Board of Trustees and serves as their chief assistant and designated backup.
